Description This desirable and high grade Colt Delta Elite HBAR is a variation of the standard Colt AR-15A2 rifle that was specially selected for accuracy and then converted by the Colt custom shop into a “DELTA-HBAR” type rifle. The conversion Model# R6601DH consisted of the Colt factory installing a Rubberized Tasco 3×9 power variable scope (with duplex reticle) that is mounted with a special Colt marked scope mount marked M16A1/M16A2 fitted in the carrying handle slot and a Colt branded plastic cheekpiece on the buttstock that provided a higher cheek weld for shooting with the scope. Colt produced these rifles in the late 1980s until the 1994 assault rifle ban was implemented. A2 rifle configuration (forward assist, brass deflector, and fixed carrying handle with the 800 meter adjustable rear sight).  Barrel is marked C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 HBAR. Left side of the magazine well is roll stamped “Colt Sporter Match HBAR/CAL. 223. Colt customer service confirm date of manufacture in late 80s.  Includes original Colt aluminum carrying case and key, labeled by the factory to the gun, a black Colt branded leather sling and instruction manuals. Condition: Excellent. Kept as a collector's piece with minimal usage and wear. Some storage scuffs on the gray parkerization and some moderate scratches on the cheekpiece, nothing major. Bore is sharp. Mechanically excellent.
